Woman Fatally Attacked by Husband's Cousin in Mancherial Village

<p>A 45-year-old woman lost her life after being fatally attacked by her husband's cousin at Nelki Venkatapur village in Dandepalli mandal, Mancherial district, on Wednesday night in a case rooted in long-standing enmity and accusations of sorcery.</p>
<p>Dandepalli Sub-Inspector Rajyavardhan said the victim, Singathi Laxmi, was sitting in front of her house at around 8 pm when her husband's cousin, Ramesh, a resident of the same village, attacked her with an axe. Laxmi passed away on the spot after suffering severe injuries.</p>
<p>Police said Ramesh had been at odds with Laxmi for a considerable period. On the night of the incident, he picked an argument with her, blaming her for his recent divorce. In a fit of rage, he reportedly attacked Laxmi with the axe before fleeing the scene.</p>
<p>Laxmi's husband, Lachanna, lodged a complaint with the police. A fatal crime case has been registered against Ramesh. Investigations are underway and a search has been launched to apprehend the accused.</p>
