India's Jeddah Consulate Assures Support to Nationals Injured in Jazan Incidents

<p>The Consulate General of India in Jeddah has assured its full support and assistance to Indian nationals currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the Saudi coastal city after they suffered wounds in recent incidents in Jazan.</p>
<p>Consul General Fahad Suri visited the affected Indian nationals at Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah. The Consulate said Suri enquired about their health and well-being, interacted with the patients, and personally assured them of the mission's full backing.</p>
<p>The Consulate added in a post on X that it remains in close touch with hospital authorities as well as the affected nationals and their family members. The exact number of Indian nationals receiving treatment was not specified.</p>
<p>According to Arab News, two people suffered wounds when a projectile launched by Yemen's Houthis struck Al-Tuwal governorate in Jazan on Saturday, September 12. However, the Indian Consulate did not confirm whether the Indian nationals at the Jeddah hospital were wounded in that same strike.</p>
<p>The attack came against a backdrop of heightened regional tensions, with Yemen's Houthis carrying out a series of missile and drone strikes on Saudi Arabia's southern regions in recent days. Last week, Houthi strikes targeted civilian and economic facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, leaving 73 people wounded, including women and children, Arab News reported.</p>
